Lake Placid Corporate Olympics: Building Team Effectiveness

Objectives:

• Improve team performance

• Provide a shared experience to increase team potency

• Identify interpersonal or group dynamic issues that may hinder team performance

• Re-energize team members through healthy competition

• Identify keys to sustainable team performance

Critical Business Issues Addressed:

• How can teams align around a vision and perform at their peak?

• What is a healthy level of inter-organizational competition and how is this determined?

• What role does competition versus collaboration play in organizational success?

• What degree of support do individuals on the team need in order to excel?

• What is the role of having fun in meeting organizational objectives?

Number of Participants:

• Minimum of eight, maximum of 30

Site Requirements:

• Corporate Olympic games are held at the Lake Placid Olympic Village

  • “Shots on goal” at the hockey rink

  • Curling competition

  • Modified decathlon (shooting portion only)

  • Bobsled teams

Methodologies:

• Experiential exercises

• Small and large group dialogue

• Peer feedback

Time Required:

• Can be done as a one day event, however we recommend a 2-day off-site with instrumentation and introduction of the Team Leadership Model®
