Bob Goodell leverages an approach to coaching built on a "just in time" learning model—as opposed to a more academic or "just in case" learning model—developed throughout his more than 20 years of experience coaching corporate leaders. His approach assumes that the path to increased effectiveness as a leader lies in experimenting with new behavior on the job.

Critical to this is the need to identify the desired results and upcoming opportunities, and then try those new approaches to obtain better results. All of this is done in the context of on-going business activity, so that it's relevant, practical and makes a difference that matters. Bob's clients find that once they experience success with the new approach, they are driven to continue to refine that approach and sustain the results without undue reliance on Bob.

Clients describe working with Bob as practical, tied directly to business results and impacting not only themselves but also their reporting team and other key stakeholders. Bob has a particular expertise in supporting executives who are facing significant change in their businesses, or need to leverage their leadership style to develop high-performance teams. Bob focuses most of his work in supporting leaders with highly complex organizations, primarily C-Suite executives and those with high potential to the C-Suite. He is a versatile coach who is equally as effective in the C-Suite as he is with mid- to senior-level executives.

Prior to entering private practice as an executive coach, Bob spent the major part of his career in various executive training and development roles with Right Management Consultants, Ebasco Services, Mobil Oil Corporation and Bell Telephone Labs.  His initial career was in electronic systems design and development with Bell Labs.  Bob holds a B.S. from the University of Maine, an M.S. from NYU, an M.A. in Applied Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and has completed all course work for a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Bob comes to us through his affiliation with Cambria Consulting, a premier talent consulting and executive coaching firm, where he is a senior-level member of the firm’s executive coach network.
